Colossians 3:1-3(AMP) 3 Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. 3 For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.
There are so many people who just don’t love their life. We have to live it – but we don’t have to live it miserably and unhappy all of the time. We can learn to love the life we have. What we focus on in life is what we get. We can focus on the good things or focus on the bad things. When we focus on the good things, our outlook develops into happiness.
When we focus on the junky things in life our outlook develops into sadness. We develop what we focus on.
What we focus on grows into something. When we focus on the negative we can get to the point where we just plain hate our lives. Other people may want the life we have but we are so busy focusing on the negative we do not even realize what we have that is good. Don’t wait to be happy when circumstances in your life change, choose to be happy now, in the midst of your circumstances.
John 10:10 (AMP) 10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].
We often think we will be happy when certain things change. We can always have something to be unhappy about. It is up to us to choose to be happy in the Lord. We tend to be unhappy when life is not going the way we think it should be or when we compare our lives to the lives of others. The devil came to steal our joy and will work day and night to do so.
Romans 14:7-8 (AMP) 7 None of us lives for himself [for his own benefit, but for the Lord], and none of us dies for himself [but for the Lord]. 8 If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. So then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God to let Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:
Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen
