Change takes endurance

Philippians 4:5 (AMPC) Let all men know and perceive and recognize your unselfishness (your considerateness, your forbearing spirit). The Lord is near [He is [a]coming soon].

It is time to get it right and quit making excuses. The Lord is near and coming soon. If there is ever a time to get serious about our walk with God, now is the time. Most of us love God but not all of us are serious about our walk with God. It is time to make our mind up about how we want to live life.

Ephesians 4:22-24 (AMPC) 22 Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; 23 And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude], 24 And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.

The way we change our life is by renewing our mind. We all want our lives to change but we certainly do not want to do what we need to in order to see change happen in our lives. The first part of change in life is recognizing the need for change. Once we recognize it, then we have to set our mind to do what we need to do to see change happen.

Change takes endurance. The good news is we have a God who will help us with the change we need to make in life. With God on our side, it may not be a picnic, but we will have peace and direction and a partner who loves us through our mistakes.

James 1:21-22 (AMPC) 21 So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].

When we feel we are struggling, it is time to dig out that bible and start understanding it. The Word of God has power to change us day by day. Our lives can change drastically when we begin to read the bible and understand that we can have a different life than what we have.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God to let Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
