Things are never more important than the people I love in my life

Make a list of the top 5 things you would like to accomplish in your lifetime. Now make a list of the top 5 things you would want to do if you found you have only 12 months to live. Do those lists match?

Matthew 6:19-20 (AMP) 19 “Do not store up for yourselves [material] treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal;

I don’t want to store up my life on things that are already in the process of decaying. We know in our head that we should balance out spiritual, family, work, and other things but we don’t really know in our heart or we would be doing the things we need to do so we do not look back at our lives with regret. Things are never more important than the people I love in my life. We tend to get caught up in the ‘things’ of life.

Life may seem crazy and hectic as things are going on around us but as we get older we realize that life passes us by in a blink of an eye. What a shame to get to a certain age and maturity and feel like you just might have been pursuing the wrong things in life all together.

We can learn to live for eternity rather than for the given moment. We often hear YOLO – or you only live once – this does not mean do stupid things because you only live once, it means make careful consideration in your choices because every choice impacts your life in some sort of way.

It takes some time before we realize we really have not been focusing on what is good for our soul. We each reach certain levels of maturity and at different times. Every hour we use is one that we will not get back. If your life is out of balance, now is the time to make the change.

Don’t get so entangled in the busyness and craziness of life that we forget that this is not our permanent home, we are just passing through.

Psalm 119:19 (AMP) 19 I am a stranger on the earth; Do not hide Your commandments from me.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
