Ephesians 6:11-16 (AMP) 11 Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. 13 Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. 14 So stand firm and hold your ground, having [a]tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), 15 and having [b]strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. 16 Above all, lift up the [protective] [c]shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
There are going to be days where we plan to be great for the day and we just completely have an emotional and fleshly day. We start off in a good mood but we end up reacting negatively to people and situations. It’s actually okay to have a bad day. We all have bad days. When we have those bad days we cannot let the devil come at us with condemnation. When that happens, we have to put on righteousness. We are not right in our actions, but we are right in Christ.
We can put on the spiritual armor each morning when we wake up so we are able to fight the evil forces that come against us each and every day. Putting on is an action – it is not going to just happen. That is our part in working with God in our love-walk. God will give us strength and endurance for the battles we face each day but we have to actually put on our armor to face the battles of the given day.
The devil knows when we have our spiritual armor on. The devil will come against us, but when we fight with our spiritual armor rather than our emotions, he will back down.
God supplies us with all the armor we need but we have to be willing to put it on.
Ephesians 6:18 (AMP) 18 With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all [a]God’s people.
If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:
Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen
