Colossians 2:7 (AMP) 7 having been deeply rooted [in Him] and now being continually built up in Him and [becoming increasingly more] established [a]in your faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing in it with gratitude.
To be rooted means that you will not blow over in the middle of life’s most awful storms. When we are rooted in the truth of God’s word and the love of God, then nothing can take that word from us. When we are grounded in the love of God, then nothing can separate us from the love of God. The love of God is the healing for our brokenness and gives us strength and power. God loves you and you are the apple of His eye. God has His eye on you.
Stay rooted and grounded in your faith. That can be tough to do when things around us are not going so well. But to be honest, what do we really have when this world goes away? It’s not people or things, it is God. God will take care of all of our needs.
1 Peter 5:9 (AMP) 9 But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack—rooted, established, immovable], knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. [You do not suffer alone.]
Everybody is going through something. No matter what we are going through someone is going through something so much worse. We will always come out on the other side of the storm – we may not come out the way we wanted, but we will come out according to God’s plan for our lives.
We have an enemy, the devil, who will come at us in several ways. We cannot hope the devil will just leave us alone. We have to resist the devil. The devil is relentless but we have to make up our minds to be relentless when faced with the devil’s schemes to ruin our lives. The devil is not about to sit around and watch Christians be successful and happy in life so we need to be prepared to face the devil at His onset with the Word of God.
Stop letting the devil steal from you. No more stealing your happiness and joy. Stand firmly rooted in the word of God at the onset of an attack from the devil and you will remain standing!
If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:
Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen
