Romans 12:2 (AMPC) 2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
We may have areas in life where we just think we cannot change how we are. Changing our actions is never easy. How do we change our actions? By first changing our minds and lining it up with the Word of God. We can take an inventory of our thoughts and understand what is on our mind that makes us view life the way that we do. If we really start to pay attention to our mind we might find there are things in there that need to be renewed. We can change our thoughts once we know the pattern of thinking that exists.
Ephesians 4:22-24 (AMPC) 22 Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; 23 And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude], 24 And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.
All of us wish we had reacted differently to a situation or behaved differently in our lifetime. How can we change from our old behavior to new behavior? We renew the spirit of our mind! We can aggressively believe good things are going to happen in our lives. We can live with anticipation for a great day every morning. Refuse to believe any lie Satan throws at you and be determined to be happy every day of your life.
If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:
Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen
