Ephesians 1:17-19 (AMPC) 17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,
A prompting is a gentle reminder. A prompting is how we learn to hear from God. When we don’t feel right about doing something then it might be an indication that God is prompting you to make the right choice for your life. The more we develop our relationship with Christ the more we will be able to decipher the promptings from the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 3:5-7 (AMPC) 5 Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. 6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. 7 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.
We will never learn to be led by the Holy Spirit if we ignore the promptings of the Holy Spirit and think that we know what is better for our lives than God does. No matter how much we think we know – we do not know better than God. It takes time and mistakes to learn how to be led by the Holy Spirit. We are going to get things wrong, but we are also going to get things right.
We can learn to get excited about the same things God is excited about. We tend to want to please our flesh. Our flesh gets excited about a lot of things. Not everything our flesh gets excited about is good for us. God can help us to resist the temptations to do the wrong thing and start living a deeper life.
Psalm 17:15 (AMPC) 15 As for me, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness (rightness, justice, and right standing with You); I shall be fully satisfied, when I awake [to find myself] beholding Your form [and having sweet communion with You].
If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:
Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen
