What comes out of our mouth reveals the real person we are

James 3:10 (AMPC) 10 Out of the same mouth come forth blessing and cursing. These things, my brethren, ought not to be so.

A lot of times we focus so much on what we should not do rather than what we should do. We know things we should not do and we try not to do those things. But rather than concentrating on the bad, we can focus on the positive things we should do. It is much more uplifting to focus on the positive. That goes for the words we speak as well.

Isaiah 58:9 (AMPC) Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, Here I am. If you take away from your midst yokes of oppression [wherever you find them], the finger pointed in scorn [toward the oppressed or the godly], and every form of false, harsh, unjust, and wicked speaking,

Controlling our words will allow us to have more power in our lives. When we use our words how they should be we will have amazing answers to prayer. We will be filled with the spirit – on a more regular basis. We can have the spirit inside of us but sometimes it’s not as evident when we have a negative filled life.

John 6:63 (AMPC) 63 It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life.

We need to discipline ourselves to say positive words even about ourselves and not be so critical! We can speak the word of God over our lives. The Word of God is life and Spirit! Our lives will be filled with more joy when we start speaking positive words over our lives. We tend to depress and discourage ourselves with our own words. What comes out of our mouth reveals the real person we are. We can get to know ourselves and get to know other people just by listening to the spoken words.

Proverbs 18:20-21 (AMPC) 20 A man’s [moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil]. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
