Our walk with God is our responsibility

atthew 6:33 (AMP) 33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also

We can spend a lot of time seeking what God can do for us rather than seeking a relationship with Him. We often go to God and give Him a list of things we want or think we need. We have this way of living in our flesh and by our fleshly desires without even realizing it. If we want a deeper relationship with God we have to go beyond how we feel.

Psalm 37:4 (AMP) 4Delight yourself in the Lord, And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart.

God will take care of us and give us the desires of our heart when we seek him rather than what He can do for us. We can learn to seek God first in every single thing that we do. The devil is alive and well and ready to attack us as soon as we wake up in the morning. When we do not require God as a vital necessity in life, our lives can become a chaotic mess. We start to control and do everything ourselves forgetting that ultimately, God is in control in our lives.

A relationship with God is getting to know Him through conversation, prayer, and study of His word. When we don’t spend enough time with God we can begin to lose our happiness, peace, feel worn out, and just feel like things are a mess in life. When we put God first, everything seems to work out. God will fight our battles.

We ask for things and things to happen, then we get things and we start to become too busy to spend time with God. We can seek God first and then the things of our heart will be added unto us. It’s tough to form the habit of seeking God first. We develop the habit one step at a time, and prayer and petition to God.

Psalm 27:4 (AMP) One thing I have asked of the Lord, and that I will seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, To gaze upon the beauty [the delightful loveliness and majestic grandeur] of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
