It takes a lot of courage to start believing you are worth something

Ephesians 6:10 (AMPC) 10 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].

Today insecurity seems to be an epidemic. Nothing in life will seem right in life until we feel right about ourselves. The way we feel about ourselves is so important for how we live our lives. God’s will is not for us to feel down all of the time and dislike ourselves. We should like to spend time alone and be with ourselves.

We don’t feel right about ourselves because we do right but because we are right with God. When we begin to understand we are right with God our behavior begins to change. It is easy to slip into a performance acceptance syndrome. When we do that we do what everyone else wants us to do and we begin to lose ourselves. The way to break free from that is to learn who we are in Christ. We are made right in Christ not in our performance or our ability to please others.

Ephesians 6:11-12 (AMPC) 11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

We have to be patient while we are working on being more secure in life. We just don’t wake up one day and change. In fact the devil will put as many roadblocks in our path as we are walking toward freedom from insecurities. He’ll put people in our lives who insult us, give s negative thoughts about ourselves, and just constantly be nagging at us with different things so we continue to dislike who we are. When we begin to understand that we are right in Christ we begin to have more power to attack the negative thoughts that fall into our head that cause us to feel bad about ourselves.

It takes a lot of courage to start believing you are worth something. It does not matter what anyone says – God loves you and you are valuable. When you start confronting insecurity with positive thoughts and the word of God you will begin to see change little by little. It would be nice if insecurity would just go away, but there is always going to be opportunity to feel insecure about something. The sooner we learn to fight for ourselves and fight for our lives, the sooner we can begin to overcome our insecurities.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (AMPC) Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
