We have power in our lives when we have gratitude

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (AMP) 18 in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

Being thankful is an attitude. We have to consider complaining when we think or talk about being thankful. If we really take into our heart an attitude of thankfulness it will have the power to change our life. When we murmur and complain we might not progress much. It is easy to be thankful when things are going our way. We can learn to be thankful when things are not going well because we can learn to have hope that God will be with us and guide us as we go through the messes in life. God can and will show us things to be thankful for each day. There is always something we can choose to be happy about. It is up to us to change our attitude in the area of being thankful.

What if every person replaced their murmuring with finding something to be thankful for? I think the world would change drastically. We always want to talk about the problems and it is like it puts this negative cloud over our head and most the time we do not realize it because it has become a life-long habit.

Psalm 34:1-3 (AMP) 34 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; The humble and downtrodden will hear it and rejoice. 3 O [a]magnify the Lord with me,

No matter how lousy your life is right now you can still choose to be thankful for the good things that are going on in life. Instead of trying not to complain focus on being thankful and having gratitude – the positive will eventually choke out the negative. We have power in our lives when we have gratitude. Gratitude add power and complaining adds weakness.

Romans 8:28 (AMP) 28 And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
