How much thought do you give to your thoughts? Do you think about what you are thinking about? When you are feeling down, stop and pay attention to what you have been thinking. The way we feel is connected to the way we think. Our thoughts impact every area of our life – our mood, attitude, the words we speak and our behavior.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (AMPC) 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, 5 [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),
We are in a war with our mind. This war is no war that any physical weapon can help us with. The devil tries to build strongholds in our mind. Even though the lies of the devil are not true – it becomes our reality because we start to believe the negative thoughts that fall into our head. We do not have to think whatever falls into our head. We can do our own thinking. If the thoughts in your head do not line up with what is in the bible, then it is a lie.
More than anything, the Devil uses our mind to steal from us what Jesus came to give us. We have to aggressively fight what the Devil is trying to do to our thoughts. Recognizing negative thoughts do not come from God is the first step to aggressively fighting back to have a positive mind. It’s possible to have a negative attitude that is destroying our life while we spend time blaming others and not taking responsibility for our current circumstance. Our war is not with others but with the Devil.
We have to recognize the lies of Satan. When we begin to recognize that we need to change our thinking, then real transformation can begin to take place in our lives. Don’t let the devil fill your mind with worry, anxiety, and fears. It takes time to start thinking right. Every day you can set out to start gearing your mind toward right thinking. This will not happen overnight so be patient.
If you have stinky thoughts all of the time there is a good chance you will have a stinky life. The way to change your stinky life is to change your stinky thinking. The devil wants to steal our joy but God wants us to enjoy life. All things that have happened to us can work out for good.
John 10:10 (AMPC) 10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it [a]overflows).
If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:
Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen
