It takes courage and determination to go through life

2 Timothy 4:7-8 (AMPC) I have fought the good (worthy, honorable, and noble) fight, I have finished the race, I have kept (firmly held) the faith. [As to what remains] henceforth there is laid up for me the [victor’s] crown of righteousness [for being right with God and doing right], which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me and recompense me on that [great] day—and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved and yearned for and welcomed His appearing (His return).

We have to have guts to run our race. It takes courage and determination to go through life without being wimpy and whiny when following what God wants us to do. Jesus is coming back. Knowing that, I need to remember to live for eternity and not just for the moment I am in. We are going to live forever. The choices I make today effect my later on. We often choose to ignore God’s leading because frankly, we just don’t want to do what He is guiding us to do. It is time for us to start thinking about the long lasting impact of the immediate decisions we make.

Acts 20:22-25 (AMPC) 22 And now, you see, I am going to Jerusalem, bound by the [Holy] Spirit and obligated and compelled by the [convictions of my own] spirit, not knowing what will befall me there— 23 Except that the Holy Spirit clearly and emphatically affirms to me in city after city that imprisonment and suffering await me. 24 But none of these things move me; neither do I esteem my life dear to myself, if only I may finish my course with joy and the ministry which I have obtained from [which was entrusted to me by] the Lord Jesus, faithfully to attest to the good news (Gospel) of God’s grace (His unmerited favor, spiritual blessing, and mercy). 25 And now, observe, I perceive that all of you, among whom I have gone in and out proclaiming the kingdom, will see my face no more.

It is tough to go somewhere God tells us to go when we know we face suffering. God does not want us to let petty things bother us all of the time like we tend to do. Don’t give up when things start to get tough. Stuff is going to happen in life to each and every one of us. When you don’t know what to do – keep doing what you do know what to do such as pray, keep moving on, being kind to others, and not letting the situation bring you down. Focus on kindness and what is going well.

Jesus is coming and when that happens you will be glad you ran your race with endurance and diligence.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (AMPC) 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
