If we do not learn to bring God into our everyday lives then what is the purpose of going to church one hour a week

John 10:10 (AMPC) 10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it [a]overflows).

Guess what? God wants us to enjoy our life. It can take us a long time to learn to enjoy life – just the way it is. Our past and current circumstances may make it difficult to learn to enjoy everyday life. Learning to enjoy life is a journey. Enjoying everyday life is not about celebrating and being happy in only good times, it is being joyful every single day of your life regardless of what is going on around you.

Most of life is ordinary – there’s not a lot of high moments. We habitually do the same things each week. Many times we wish for a different life in order to enjoy life. We have to learn how to enjoy where we are at in the journey. Even if we had what we think would make us happy – we would likely find other things that steal our joy. That is just the way life is. We have to learn to be happy with everyday life and with our own life rather than finding all the things that are wrong with our life. Find the right things and focus on that.

One of the ways we can take an ordinary life and make it extraordinary is to do the things we do with a heart of joy and do what we do unto the Lord. What we do in life – even if it is working in the office – we can do unto the Lord. How do we do that? By doing the best we can do with integrity, right morals, and joy. Let everything we do glorify God.

We glorify God by letting him into everything we do everywhere we go. If we do not learn to bring God into our everyday lives then what is the purpose of going to church one hour a week? Is it habit or do you go with the purpose to understand God’s love and to learn to live for him? God is interested in every single thing that we do. God is with us all of the time, why should we just give Him Sunday morning? This doesn’t mean praying 24 hours a day but remembering Him in our daily lives.

John 15:11 (AMPC) 11 I have told you these things, that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy and gladness may be of full measure and complete and overflowing.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
