Take time to acknowledge and smile at someone

Philippians 4:8 (AMPC) For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

People are everywhere. We can let them drive us crazy or learn how to enjoy them. It basically depends on how we choose to think about people. We can’t help but think about people but we need to learn to think about them right. Would you want to be friends with you? The kind of friend you are determines how many good friends you have in life.

If you are lonely, maybe you need to go out and sow some seeds to bring friendships into your life. Something as simple as a smile can make someone’s day. Take time to acknowledge and smile at someone. Making friends may start with simply exercising our face. A smile will not crack our face but it can minister to someone who needs to be ministered to.

Do you have a joy draining effect on other people? A negative attitude attracts negative people and a positive attitude attracts positive people. Everyone does not want to hear about your problems all of the time or listen to you just talk about yourself all of the time. If we have a reason to be negative it doesn’t mean we have to be negative in thought and action.

Being a friend is give and take. People will always respond if you ask about their lives. Listening to people is giving. It is giving our time to listen to someone. Being a friend is about showing love to others, listening to them when they need someone to listen to them and sometimes it requires keeping your opinion to yourself. Just because I don’t like something or agree with something it does not mean it is wrong. I am not the standard of the universe.

John 13:34-35 (AMPC) 34 I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another. 35 By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves].

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
