God changes me and God changes others, but I cannot change others

We have a lot of information without revelation. If we ask God to reveal things about our character He will. We need to be careful when asking for that and be prepared for what God will reveal. God reveals to us things about our character when we are ready to receive it. Sometimes we can notice something about someone else’s character that we think should change. It may not be in God’s timing for that character flaw to be revealed to that person so the best thing to do is to pray for that person rather than reveal what you think their faults may be. Each of us will stand before God and give an account for ourselves. I am responsible only for my actions – not the actions of others. God changes me and God changes others, but I cannot change others.

Jeremiah 29:11Amplified Bible (AMP) 11 For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope.

God has an individual plan for each and every one of us that was specifically made for us. Not only does God have a plan for individuals, but He has a timing for individuals. We sometimes want to rush God’s timing and point out the faults of others to get them to move forward – we might even use guilt to manipulate others to behaving – we can especially do that with our own children. When we do that we have a greater chance of breaking someone’s spirit rather than helping them. We also can lower their self-esteem and make them feel horrible about themselves. The best way we can show support is to pray for the people we love and only reveal something to them if we are being led by God to do so.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
