By giving we are showing our faith to God

Esther 9:21-22(AMP) 21 obliging them to celebrate the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same month, annually, 22 because on those days the Jews rid themselves of their enemies, and as the month which was turned for them from grief to joy and from mourning into a holiday; that they should make them days of feasting and rejoicing and sending choice portions of food to one another and gifts to the poor.

One way for us to show gratefulness is by celebrating what we are grateful for and giving to others because we remember all of the great things that God has done for us. One way we thank God is by giving. I’m so glad I’m not the person I used to be. I have a ways to go, but I’ve come a long way. One way I can show how thankful I am is by helping and giving to others. Giving to others is more than writing a check. It’s living a life of giving.

God does not need our money. Any time someone teaches about giving we should not have the attitude that it is just another preacher trying to get our money. Even if it is their motive – God teaches us to give to benefit us. By giving we are showing our faith to God. Giving with a heart of gratitude of God is for us, not the person whom we are giving to.

God began a good work in us when we were saved. God will bring that good work to its completion.

Philippians 1:3-6 (AMP) I thank my God in every remembrance of you, always offering every prayer of mine with joy [and with specific requests] for all of you, [thanking God] for your participation and partnership [both your comforting fellowship and gracious contributions] in [advancing] the good news [regarding salvation] from the first day [you heard it] until now. I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
