We have the Holy Spirit, but how much of the Holy Spirit has us?

Acts 1:8 (AMP) But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”

Why have just enough to get by when you can have all that God has promised? Jesus is the anointed one. We are all anointed and Jesus’s anointing abides in us. The anointing helps us to do things that we could not do on our own. We are anointed with the Holy Spirit and we are capable of great things! On reason we don’t experience the power of Christ is because we are unsure of how to value the Holy Spirit inside of us. We can grieve the Holy Spirit through some of our actions. We have the Holy Spirit, but how much of the Holy Spirit has us? Why have just enough of God to slip into heaven when we can live a glorious life here on earth?

When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will receive power to be great, not just do great, but to be great. We can let the Holy Spirit change our character and nature so we can be great and live great.

We do not always understand the power that is available to us. Jesus did not die so we can live a miserable and barely get by kind of life. He died so we can live a life filled with victory. God wants you to have power in living your everyday life. You can do whatever it is you need to do through God who strengthens you.

Acts 1:4-5 (AMP) While being together and eating with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Of which,” He said, “you have heard Me speak. For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized and empowered and united with the Holy Spirit, not long from now.”

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
