Do not let sins of the past direct your steps you take in the future

Ephesians 2:10 (AMP) 10 For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), [a]recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

There’s a good life that has been pre-arranged for us. When a baby learns to walk, they fall many times but they always get back up and try again. That is what we need to do. No matter how many times we fall down, we just need to get back up.

A new beginning doesn’t happen overnight – it is something that starts with a decision and then takes place a step at a time. The devil will put roadblocks in our way as we take each step. We can overcome the devil’s stumbling blocks with God’s help. God will lead us and guide is to the best life we can have but it is up to us to get un-stuck from the place we are at. It will take some courage on our part to follow God’s lead.

In order for us to have what God wants us to have we may need to take a few chances and step out in courage. It is up to us to stop remembering things in our past that God has forgotten. With God we have a new beginning and it is up to us to realize that we are forgiven for our past sins. Do not let sins of the past direct your steps you take in the future. Your life is not determined by your past but rather what you decide to do with the hand that life has dealt you.

God is not shocked from our sins and he accepts our weaknesses and forgives us for the sins that we make. There is not a thing about us that God does not know. That does not stop God from wanting us to come to Him and live the good life that He wants for us to live.

Get un-stuck from your past and decide to begin again.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP) 17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
