1 Corinthians 11:31 (AMP) 31 For if we searchingly examined ourselves [detecting our shortcomings and recognizing our own condition], we should not be judged and penalty decreed [by the divine judgment].
We do not have to just go around and have our sins on our mind all of the time, but it is great to be aware of them, ask God to help, then grow from what we learn. There is so much more for us in a relationship with God then just showing up at a church service every Sunday. Relationship with God is about a lifestyle.
We can’t be forgiven for a sin if we are ignoring it and not asking for forgiveness. There are sins that we don’t even see in our own lives. We can ask God to reveal those unknowing sins to us and to help us grow.
Galatians 6:4Amplified Bible (AMP) 4 But let every person carefully scrutinize and examine and test his own conduct and his own work. He can then have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable [[a]in itself alone] without [resorting to] boastful comparison with his neighbor.
If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:
Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen
