We are to enjoy life, but we don’t have to get entangled in life

1 Thessalonians 4:11 (AMP) 11 To make it your ambition and definitely endeavor to live quietly and peacefully, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we charged you,

If you want to get along with people, you may need to learn to keep your opinion to yourself. We can stop letting our emotions rule us and avoid strife. We do not always have to have the last word in conversations. We can learn to forgive quickly and not get easily offended. We seem to think nobody should offend us, yet we likely offend one person each week, or even each day.

God is the head of our battle. We have God as our battle fighter. When God is at the head of the battle, there is no way we will not win. In fact, we have already won. We sometimes don’t see ourselves as soldiers when we are facing wars in life. We are the army of God. Unfortunately, the solders cannot seem to work in harmony – there’s disagreements between Christians and churches all of the time. We are an army and we should have each other’s backs.

Ephesians 6:11-12 (AMP) 11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

There are evil forces that are against us that will oppose us throughout life. We are solders in a war against those evil forces. The devil does not want us to have a close relationship with God and will try to do everything to keep that from happening. Each time we focus to do what is right, we will face opposition.

The devil is hard at work in the area of trying to entangle us – so it is up to us to recognize when this is happening. We are to enjoy life, but we don’t have to get entangled in life. That means do not let the little everyday things change our behavior.   We can really get entangled in current times where it eventually steals our inner joy. Some of the things in today’s world can steal our joy.

Our desires of the flesh are the instrument that the Devil works through. We can choose to enjoy walking with God and make it a goal to defeat the devil each and every day. When we recognize our temptations and wars come from the devil rather than blaming things around us, we can start to fight our battles with the right frame of mind. The devil may be against us but God is on our side.

Galatians 5:17 (AMP) 17 For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.Galatians 5:17Amplified Bible (AMP) 17 For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.e right frame of mind. The devil may be against us, but the good news is we have God on our side!e right frame of mind. If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
