Jeremiah 2:19 (AMP)19 Your own wickedness shall chasten and correct you, and your backslidings and desertion of faith shall reprove you. Know therefore and recognize that this is an evil and bitter thing: [first,] you have forsaken the Lord your God; [second,] you are indifferent to Me and the fear of Me is not in you, says the Lord of hosts.
Where is the fear of God in us today? We tend to get going in our daily lives and forget how Awesome God is and the great power He has in life. We don’t have to be afraid of God but we have to have a reverential fear and respect of His awesomeness in life. He has the power to change our lives and ensure we stay on the path we need to stay on so we need to be in alignment with what He has to say.
It is time we get honest with ourselves and about ourselves to understand where we are on our journey with God. It’s not just about reading the bible each and every day, but applying the bible to our lives each and every day. We don’t need to be perfect but it is good to understand where our areas of weakness are so we can work with God to improve in those areas. Never condemn yourself for making mistakes but be convicted so you can strive to live a higher and better life.
There are areas I need improvement where I am weak and it seems as if I will never get better in some areas of life. But God knows my heart and knows I want to do right. God will help me through any weakness I have and give me strength to endure the situation and the people in my situation when it comes to the weaknesses I have. God will always see us through. Once we are honest with ourselves about ourselves we are no longer hiding that issue in the dark. Being honest will set you free.
Jeremiah 17:9 (AMP)9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly perverse and corrupt and severely, mortally sick! Who can know it [perceive, understand, be acquainted with his own heart and mind]?
If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:
Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen
