At this moment you are as close to God as you want to be

Psalm 27:4 (AMP) One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.

When we put God first everything will work out – God will fight our battles. We must go to good and seek his goodness, not what He can do for us. In order to put God first we will have to spend a little bit of time with Him. When spending time with God, ask Him to show you areas where you are not putting Him first. I am sure He will do so if you inquire.

I used to discipline myself with trying to read a bible verse a day. Then I realized I wasn’t really absorbing anything that I was reading. The key to absorbing is to seek God first and ask Him what He wants you to work on. When there’s an area in your life you know you need to improve on, study those references in the bible, pray with God to help you in that area, and He will. It’s amazing how much more of the bible you can absorb if it is something that is applicable to you. Do you want to know about God or do you want to know God?

God is our power source and it is critical for us to stay plugged into that power source on a regular basis. We can tend to get unplugged from that power source through the regular hustle and bustle in life. When we put God first, everything will work out. Sometimes we seem to be desperate for things to change in our life but really what we are desperate for is God. We alone determine our level of intimacy with God. At this moment you are as close to God as you want to be.

Psalm 37:4 (AMP) Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
