Psalm 37:4 (AMP) 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.
When it is time for our life to end what do you want? I think for me, I want to know that I’m right with God and the people I love around me. If we spend too much time on the things we define as success, we may overlook those things that may be most important for us. Being financially successful is an awesome thing, but it’s important we keep our priorities in check and stay in balance. We can learn a lot about ourselves just by taking an inventory on what exactly it is we are seeking and pursing in life. Answer these questions: What do I talk about most? What do I spend the most of my time on each day? What do I think about each day?
It is okay and fine to desire success. There is not a thing wrong with wanting nice things for ourselves and for our family. We just need to make sure that seeking success does not become bigger than what are priority in life is. When we put God first, it is amazing how God has the tendency to give us the desires in our heart.
We seem to think if we are not constantly pursuing success that it just won’t happen. Where’s the faith in that. To be honest, we are to pursue God and let God give us the desires of our heart instead of pursue success and spend spare moments seeking God. God loves us an incredible amount. The truth is if God wants us to have something, we will have it. Of course we have a part and cannot expect everything to just fall on our lap – God has a part and we have a part. But the point is to maintain a balance and keep our priorities in check of what it is that is really important in our lives.
Matthew 6:33 (AMP) 33 But seek ([a]aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness ([b]His way of doing and being right), and then all these things [c]taken together will be given you besides.
Some of us on the outside appear to have everything, married, 2.5 kids, great job, etc. The question is are you happy and at peace every day? If the answer to that question is no, then it may be time to evaluate whether or not you are living a shallow life. Sometimes we have to live a deeper life to know the abundance that God has in store for us. When we begin to live a deeper life we will not have to chase blessings because they will chase us.
Luke 5:4-6 (AMP) 4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon (Peter), Put out into the deep [water], and lower your nets for a haul. 5 And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night [[a]exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But [b]on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again]. 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish; and as their nets were [[c]at the point of] breaking,
If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:
Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen
