Don’t live to make yourself happy but turn that responsibility to God

John 12:24 (AMP) 24 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.

It is time for a change. All of us are a little bit selfish – that’s human nature. We can get over ourselves if we want to. The way to do that is start letting God take care of us instead of trying to control everything around us then getting upset when things do not go our way. When we start to focus on helping others and get ourselves off of our mind, it’s amazing how much happiness we find.

There is not one person who does not deal with selfishness. It is just the way we were born so we shouldn’t feel guilty when feelings of selfishness come up but it is great if we start to recognize the selfishness in us. The more we try to make ourselves happy the less happy we are – because we are working so hard to be happy. When we decide to let God keep us happy and satisfied the happiness and contentment will stay with us.

When we let God take care of us then we may find ourselves happier than we have ever been. Don’t live to make yourself happy but turn that responsibility to God. While we are trusting God then we can choose to do what we can to bless someone else’s life. You may find the less you think about yourself the happier you will be.

When you are concerned with only taking care of yourself then you may never find yourself happy. God has outrageous blessings for us but we have to let Him work in our lives and quit trying to control the work He is trying to do. Sometimes we think we are keeping ourselves from getting hurt by trying to make sure everyone treats us right and in the end we are just impacting the amount of happiness in our life.

Get yourself of your mind and look to see what you can do to improve the life of others. You will see little by little that your mindset and your happiness will change.

2 Corinthians 5:15 (AMP) 15 And He died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him Who died and was raised again for their sake.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
