James 4:1-2 (AMP) 4 What leads to strife (discord and feuds) and how do conflicts (quarrels and fightings) originate among you? Do they not arise from your sensual desires that are ever warring in your bodily members? 2 You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your desires go unfulfilled; [so] you become murderers. [To hate is to murder as far as your hearts are concerned.] You burn with envy and anger and are not able to obtain [the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness that you seek], so you fight and war. You do not have, because you do not ask.
Some of us may need to take a look at who we are friends with and determine whether they are good for us and help us grow or if they are keeping us from growing. We can get to a point where we rely on our friends more than we do God. It’s great to have friends, but we do not want them to keep us from focusing on God.
Make a choice to let God into every single area of your life. It is going to take some self-awareness and may even be a little painful, but when you know who you truly are, you can begin to grow into a wonderful Christian. The growing might be painful at the time, but the joy on the other end will be everlasting.
If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:
Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen
