Take charge of your joy

Isaiah 61:3Amplified Bible (AMP)To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion—to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit—that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

If we are living the life Jesus died for us to have then we will not have to preach to others the Word of God but they will see the evidence by the way we behave. Our greatest witness is the way we act. God wants to heal our wounded emotions and for us to have a great life. If our emotions are messed up and we have addicted behaviors we cannot truly enjoy our life. We can be stable, mature, healed, and whole.

Lots of us have things that may have happened to us in our life that have wounded us. We all need love, but sometimes our childhood or present situation doesn’t seem as if there is love in the world for us. God places a need in us to have love and acceptance. When we do not get that love, a lot of bad behaviors can surface. We can be functional with the hurt, but we don’t have to be miserable while we are functioning.

It is time we know who we are in Christ and be responsible for our current day situation regardless of our circumstances in present or circumstances in the past. Until we become responsible for our happiness we will always put that responsibility on things and people. Take charge of your joy. When we know God loves us, mess and all that we are, then we can start living a fulfilling life with joy.

You can overcome your past through prayer and study. The word of God will always prevail over messes. No matter how much of a mess we are, if we keep trusting God to overcome, we will. When we study the word we learn a lot about ourselves. The word of God is like a mirror. We can never get to where we want to be until we face where we are at, and that includes facing the truth about ourselves. We need to stop focusing on what others are doing, and what they have done to us, and start focusing on ourselves and what we need to do to change.

God will give us beauty for ashes.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
