It is never too late for a fresh start with God

Romans 7:18 (AMP) 18 For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot perform it. [I have the intention and urge to do what is right, but no power to carry it out.]

Our intentions for the day usually start out pretty good, but then we get up and face the realities of life each day. Every day of our lives we will be tempted. We have to pray ahead of time to handle temptation appropriately. Praying to not be tempted is almost useless – we need to pray not to give into temptation in areas of weakness in our life.

Handling our weaknesses is so much better when we ask God to help us out. God uses our weaknesses to show us the strength He provides. We get so concerned about our weakness that we don’t see God’s strength we have during times of weakness. Too many times we depend on our own abilities rather than the ability God has to help us get through things.

John 15:5 (AMP) I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

When we start to drift away from God, He has a way to bring us back to Him. We all need God to help us out in our life. The more we resist God and try to do things on our own, the worse our situations can be.

Acts 1:8 (AMP) But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.

It is never too late for a fresh start with God. We can enjoy the journey that God has given us even though every day is not perfect. God’s power is available to all of us, it is up to us what we choose to do with that power. We have the power to be a moral person and bear the fruit of the spirit when life is hard. We can all bear good fruit and go through difficult times when we have the Power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your savior, and you are not quite sure how, it is as simple as saying a prayer to God letting Him know you are ready to accept Him into your life. Say this prayer if you would like to invite Jesus to live in your heart:

Father God, I love you and believe in you. I need you Lord and I am sorry for my sins and the way that I live. Lord, I want you in my life. I receive Jesus as my savior and Lord. I believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead. Lord take me as I am and make me the way you want me to be. God, thank you for saving me and being with me on my journey. I am looking forward to my journey with you Lord. I know you will equip me for my journey and I am glad I have you by my side as I walk this walk of Life. Thank you Lord, I love you. Amen

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
