Worry will not change your circumstances but God will

Matthew 6:31-34 (AMP) 31 Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear? 32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all. 33 But seek ([a]aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness ([b]His way of doing and being right), and then all these things [c]taken together will be given you besides. 34 So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.

We all have things that go wrong in life and things will just disappoint us. God’s timing is not always our timing. When we understand and believe that it will help us through our disappointment and hard times in life. God will heal our wounds but healing is a process. Sometimes we have to create a new way of thinking about our problems in order for our life to change. When we are overwhelmed with life it is not necessarily because of our circumstances but the thoughts that are in our head about our circumstances. Our happiness is directly related to our thoughts.

Our automatic response to a problem should be trusting God rather than taking the phone a friend approach. We tend to focus on the negative of the situation rather than focusing on the positive that God brings to the situation. God is a great big God and all things are possible with God. You don’t have to worry because you can trust God completely with your life. Worry will not change your circumstances, but God will.

Take one day at a time. God gives us the grace to handle each day as it comes. Don’t waste time worrying about tomorrow because tomorrow may never come. Until we actually understand – really understand – that worrying does no good we will not stop worrying. It is almost as if we think about our problems long enough that we can figure things out or make a change in the situation.

We are to trust God with all of our heart and all of our mind. We need to get to the point where we are comfortable not knowing the answer. We don’t have the ability to have all of the answers but we do have the ability to trust God. We are lucky that we can enjoy life while God is working on our situation for us. The only way to truly trust God is we humble ourselves a little bit and realize we cannot solve all the problems we face. We are not smarter than God.

Proverbs 3:5 (AMP) Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

About lisajohnson401

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
