We can change the way we think

Revelation 16:15(AMP)
15 Behold, I am going to come like a thief! Blessed (happy, [a]to be envied) is he who stays awake (alert) and who guards his clothes, so that he may not be naked and [have the shame of being] seen exposed!

Colossians 3:12 (AMP)
12 Clothe yourselves therefore, as God’s own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].

We need to stay awake and guard our clothes. We all wear clothes but we need to wear our armor to guard us from the evil one and stay alert so we know when he is about to attack us. We need to stay dressed for spiritual battle. Satan will always attack us and we need to stay spiritually dressed.

It is important we know what the bible says about spiritual battle and how to fight the attacks from the devil. The devil is behind a lot of your problems and you may not even realize it. We tend to blame people for issues in life rather than just blame the devil. The devil is a spirit so we have to fight him in the spirit. God has given us a weapon and an armor to fight against the devil. We need to know how to use the weapons and be sure to always wear our armor for protection.
We have to put on right behavior. Getting ready for battle, takes action on our part. Bitterness, unforgiveness, and impatience are not good behaviors to put on. When we do not dress ourselves spiritually we expose ourselves. We need to make sure we do what we can to keep ourselves covered and protected for battle when the devil comes to attack us.

We may think it is impossible to behave right when we do not feel like it, but it is not. God can help us change our behavior if we ask Him to. It will not necessarily be easy to change our behavior but it can be done. We have to study the word and have a desire strong enough to please God more than we want to please our flesh. The Devil loves to work through our flesh. We can change the way we think by letting our mind be renewed by the Word of God.

Ephesians 6:11-18 (AMP)
11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.
12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.
13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].
14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,
15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the [a]firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness [b]produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.
16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of [c]saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].
17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit [d]wields, which is the Word of God.

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
