Our behavior and attitude are a choice

Ecclesiastes 12:13 (AMP)13 All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.

Our obedience is important.  It shows God that we are mature enough to handle certain things.  God wants to give us a lot in life but He may be waiting for us to mature in obedience a little bit before He does.  Obedience is the root of all character – it is the source of good character.

Obedience gives us power to control our behavior.  Our behavior and attitude are a choice.  We can get beyond living and acting out by the way we feel rather doing what is right.  God gives us a free will but it is up to us to apply the necessary discipline and use obedience to resist negative behavior.

Anything in our lives that is out of harmony we can approach with obedience.  One thing we need to take a look at when things are out of balance in our lives is what our level of obedience is.  God had a good life planned out for us but we need to learn how to walk certain things out in life with obedience.

Ephesians 2:10 (AMP)10 For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), [a]recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
