God can change our outlook on life if we sincerely want that

Proverbs 23:7 (AMP)For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. As one who reckons, he says to you, eat and drink, yet his heart is not with you [but is grudging the cost].

Our thoughts are extremely powerful.  Our thoughts can determine our future.  Our successes and victories all start in our mind.  Our mind is one of the hardest areas in our life to keep under control.  Daily we have to choose to think right thoughts because good thoughts will not just fall into our head.  The Devil does not want us to have good thoughts.  Our mind is one of the core things Satan will attack because our thoughts determine our action and reaction to daily life.

We have to learn how to think right so we can live right.  We cannot get beyond what we think.  Our thinking will prepare us for action.  If we are angry about something someone else did and we think about it for a while we may act different toward that person the next time we see them.  So when we are angry about what that person did we need to pray for God to renew our mind about that situation rather than going over and over what that person did and continue to get angrier.  God can change our outlook on life if we sincerely want that.

Thinking good thoughts on purpose takes prayer and practice.  God will work on our heart but we have to work on the way we react to our thoughts and let a new habit form in us to respond in a positive way.  When a bad thought comes into our mind we have to immediately cast down the wrong thoughts and renew our mind with the Word of God.

There will be days where it might be a battle all day long to keep right thoughts in your mind and that is okay.  We all have bad days.  We just need to recognize that it might be a rough day for us and keep that in mind when we are reacting to other people around us.

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.

  1. The mind can be a very dangerous place if we don’t take our thoughts captive and submit them to God. Excellent encouragement, Lisa 🙂
