God is not as interested in changing our circumstances as he is in changing us

John 14:27 (AMP) 27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

Peace is incredibly important in our lives.  The devil will find things to get us upset.  The devil may know more about what bothers us that we do.  We need to know what makes us lose our peace in life.  Hurrying may be something that makes us lose our peace – a way to fix that is get started a little earlier rather than rushing and losing our peace and then treating others rudely because we chose not to get started a little earlier to get to the place we need to be.

A consistent peaceful attitude can be an example to others both Christians and non-Christians.  What a great testimony to be in the midst of turmoil but have peace.  Our words about peace do not impress others but if they actually see our behavior it can be more impactful than one thousand words.  God can use us in amazing ways if we let Him.

Peace is inside of us we just need to remember that every once in a while.  It’s tough to stay peaceful when we are not getting our way or when things are out of control.  Many times our circumstances are not going to change so we need to work with God to have peace in the midst of our circumstances.  God is not as interested in changing our circumstances as he is in changing us.  The way we react to our circumstances is what shows how spiritually mature we are.

We have to make our mind up ahead of time that we will have a peaceful attitude.  It’s something we have to be determined to do.

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
