Take authority and fight like a soldier

Genesis 1:26-27 (AMP)  26 God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.  27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.

You have power and authority.  The devil also has power but the only authority the Devil has what we give him.  We can be passive in our life and battle and that can give the Devil authority.  We have to live like a soldier and actively fight against the Devil in our life.

God purposely created us and He purposely created us in His image and gave us authority.  We should never live under the attack of the Devil.  We need to know who we are in Christ and take authority over the Devil.  We may not feel like we have authority over the Devil but we do.

We know Adam and Eve disobeyed God.  They had a casual attitude about what God had instructed them to do.  How many things has God given us that we do not protect?  Satan will come to tempt us but we have to fight Him back like Jesus did when He was in the garden instead of giving in like Eve did when she was in the garden.

Luke 4:5-8 (AMP)  5 Then the devil took Him up to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time [in the twinkling of an eye].  6 And he said to Him, To You I will give all this power and authority and their glory (all their magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, and grace), for it has been turned over to me, and I give it to whomever I will.  7 Therefore if You will do homage to and worship me [just once], it shall all be Yours.  8 And Jesus replied to him, Get behind Me, Satan! It is written, You shall do homage to and worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
