Praise precedes petition

Isaiah 40:31 (AMP)
31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change
and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

You can rest and enjoy your life while God does your fighting.  Before you ask God for help, spend time with God in Praise.  Praise should precede petition.  We can tell God how great He is before we ask him for a list of things.

We have to have courage to have a conversation with God like we would talk to a close friend.  God wants us to have that kind of relationship with Him.  Everything we have with God does not need to be stiff and formal.

We need to reach the point where when we are in a situation we admit we do not know what to do and understand that we do know the One who does know what to do.  God will not fail you and come in at the right time and do what needs to be done.  We need to humble ourselves before God.  We are nothing without God.  If God doesn’t help us our lives can become a huge mess.  We cannot handle our messes without God.  Humility is one of the greatest virtues we can develop.

Set your mind that the first thing you will do when you have trouble is seek God – spend time with God in praise.  Then, we need to wait for God to act.  Don’t forget while we are waiting, we will be tempted.  Remember, while you are waiting for God to answer your prayer and troubles you can enjoy your life!  You are free to enjoy life while God is working on things that trouble you.

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
