Pride will make us thing we can handle our problems on our own

2 Corinthians 1:8-9 (AMP)
8 For we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about the affliction
and oppressing distress which befell us in [the province of] Asia, how we were so utterly and unbearably weighed down and crushed that we despaired even of life [itself].
9 Indeed, we felt within ourselves that we had received the [very] sentence of death, but that was to keep us from trusting in
and depending on ourselves instead of on God Who raises the dead.

We sometimes get ourselves into situations because we try to handle things instead of letting God handle our situations.  God just wants us to quit trying.  The more we try to control our situations the more tests we will endure to see if we will give our control to God.

Pride will make us feel like we can handle all our situations by ourselves and take the glory for the end results.  God will occasionally remind us that we are not in charge.  God will let us walk into some of our troubles and will get us out of the trouble, but many times not until after we have learned what we need to learn.

We need to be submissive to God and have a good attitude in being submissive.  We have to learn to come under authority before we can be in authority.  Submission is doing what God tells you to do and have a good attitude about it.  Submission is trusting God with what He has asked us to do and do it with a great attitude because we are doing it unto the Lord.  The more we love God the more we will control ourselves.

About lisajohnson401

My true belief is that the best way to preach is by our actions and not our words. However, we need some daily inspiration to keep us on our path. We as Christians have a responsibility not to judge others by our words but to show the love of Christ by loving them where they are at on their personal journey in life...and if they never turn their life over to Christ, continue to love them for who they are - after all God does.
